Keyboard shortcuts

Settings, Shortcuts shows the same list in the app. Orchard turns playback shortcuts off while Spotlight search or Settings is open, and while you type in a text box.

Shortcut list

Space: play or pause. Media Play does the same.
Left and Right: jump 5 seconds back or forward in the current song.
Media Prev and Media Next: previous or next song in the queue.
F: open or close the fullscreen player. It needs a loaded song and does nothing while the music video player is open.
Esc: close the music video player, the fullscreen player, Spotlight, Quick Search, a popup, or Settings, or go back to the previous page.
/ or Ctrl+K: open Spotlight search.
Any letter or number on a loaded playlist page: open Quick Search for that playlist.
Up and Down inside Spotlight or Quick Search: move through the results.
Enter inside Spotlight or Quick Search: open the highlighted result in Spotlight, or play the highlighted song in Quick Search.
Double-click the title bar: maximize or restore the window.

Play or pause with the keyboard

Press Space or the Media Play key. Space does nothing while you type in a text box or while Spotlight or Settings is open.

Seek with the keyboard

Press the Left arrow key to go back 5 seconds and the Right arrow key to go forward 5 seconds. The arrow keys do nothing while you type in a text box or while Spotlight or Settings is open.

Skip songs with the keyboard

Press the Media Prev or Media Next key on your keyboard. Orchard also answers to the media controls of your operating system.

Open the fullscreen player with the keyboard

Press F while a song is loaded. Press F again or press Esc to close it. See Play music.

Open Spotlight with the keyboard

Press / or Ctrl+K. The / key does nothing while you type in a text box. Ctrl+K works while you type in a text box. See Search and Spotlight.

Search inside a playlist with the keyboard

Open a playlist page, wait for its songs to load, and type a letter or number. Quick Search opens. Use Up and Down to move through matches, Enter to play, and Esc to close. See Search and Spotlight.

Press Esc. It closes search windows and popups, closes the fullscreen player, and returns from an album, artist, or playlist page to the previous page.

Maximize or restore the window

Double-click the title bar. Orchard uses its own title bar, and the double-click toggles between maximized and restored.
